We have decided to have ALL the Ensemble Groups come to rehearsals on FRIDAYS ONLY during January through the middle to end of February (except for our first rehearsal on January 8th). Each Ensemble Group has 2 musical numbers to learn and we feel they will be able to learn them on Fridays. Towards the middle to end of February we will probably have the ensemble groups start coming to rehearsals on Tuesdays to start running through the whole show together, so please KEEP YOUR TUESDAYS OPEN. We will keep you posted.

AUDITION RESULTS

We had an AMAZING turn out for our Alice in Wonderland Auditions last Friday. More than 70 students came to show us their WONDERFUL Talents. We are so impressed with the talent we have here at Ellison Park Elementary. We wish we had a script that could accommodate everyone (over 100 kids will participate this year). This is why we arrange Ensemble Groups into the script, so that EVERYONE can participate in the play. It's a great EXPERIENCE to be involved. We have made a couple of changes to how we will be running the Ensemble Groups and Rehearsals this year. ***Please make sure to read through all the information at the bottom of this post.***

Include your Child's Name, Grade, Teacher, Parent Name, Email, Phone Number, and Ensemble Group Choice. A SIGNED PARENT CONTRACT must be turned in on January 8th. The Parent Contracts can be printed from the top of this blog or are available for pick up in the school office. You will also need to come to the rehearsal on January 8th or email LeAnna Hamblin at b_hamblin10@hotmail.com to sign up for your required Volunteer hours.

AUDITIONS TIMES

Obviously, we have extended the times for the auditions due to the overwhelming response! We suggest you come a little earlier than your audition time, just in case we have some no shows and are running ahead of schedule. We will also have a Wait List for "NO SHOW/OPEN TIME SLOTS" at the auditions for those who were unable to get a time slot. So still stop by, we will not turn anyone away. We will have all the necessary forms there for PARENTS to sign, plus T-Shirt and DVD orders! We are excited, IT'S SHOW TIME!!!!

THERE ARE THREE REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO AUDITION FOR SPEAKING PART:

1. A PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT to sign the Parent Contract

2. Audition Form needs to be filled out (see Audition Requirements below-on previous post)

3. Parents MUST sign up for Volunteer Hours (2 Rehearsals per child)

**You will not be able to audition without these 3 requirements completed**

ENSEMBLE GROUPS
If your child does not want to audition for a speaking part, they can still be in one of our Ensemble Groups. Sign ups for the Ensemble Groups will be available this Friday on the PTA Bulletin Board and also at the Auditions or by emailing amyturner6@yahoo.com. A PARENT CONTRACT will also need to be signed along with sign ups for VOLUNTEER hours in order to participate in the Ensemble groups. They can choose from the following Ensemble Groups:

You will also be able to place DVD ORDERS ($10) and/or T-SHIRT ORDERS ($7.50) on Friday at the AUDITIONS!

Auditions

We will be holding Auditions for the speaking and singing parts for our school play, Alice in Wonderland, on Friday, December 14th from 1:30pm-4:30pm on the stage. Sign up sheets for audition times are available on the PTA Bulletin Board in the North Hall by the Cafeteria. If you don't want a speaking part you can participate in one of our 3 ensemble groups. They will be the Card Soldiers, Garden Flowers, and the White Rabbits. All Kindergartners will be White Rabbits. 

All students of Ellison Park Elementary can participate in the play!

For Auditions A PARENT MUST BE PRESENT AND YOU NEED TO:

*Prepare 16 measures of an upbeat song. You may bring your own accompanist, a minus track (on cd), or sing a’capella.  Our accompanist will also be available.

*Prepare a memorized monologue of your choice; 5 lines from a story, poem, nursery rhyme or favorite play, that showcases your personality.

*In order to audition for a speaking part YOU MUST BRING your signed Parent Contract, Audition Form and Parents must be signed up for VOLUNTEER hours.

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays 3:30pm-5:00pm and Fridays 1:30pm-3:00pm. Rehearsals are mandatory. No more than 2 absences will be allowed. Parents with students involved in the play will once again be required to volunteer at 2 rehearsals per child. 2 Priority Tickets can be earned with volunteer hours at 6 additional rehearsals. 

Performances will be on the evenings of March 21st and 22nd, 2013 at 7:00pm. Tech Rehearsal will be on Monday, March 18th 3:30pm-5:30pm. Dress Rehearsals will be on Tuesday, March 19th 3:30pm-5:30pm and Wednesday, March 20th 3:30pm-5:30pm.
